But thou saidst, there is no hope.

"Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go." Jeremiah 2:25.

Drunk with lust, and their souls saturated with the very thing GOD had forbidden Israel of, the idol worship of the heathen. Bent on being like all the other nations, having this world's goods, and bowing down at the altar of pleasure and money, Israel's whole national demeanor said, “there is no hope”.

What they meant was, there is no hope in following the true and the living GOD, obeying His statutes, adhering to His worship, keeping His commandments and looking for Christ to come!  “What profit is it” they say.  Mal 3vs14 "Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?"

They were right! There is no hope, outside of Christ!  For all who will have this world, all hope is lost. "But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost." Job 11vs20.

They wanted to be like all the other nations, so it was. Eph 2vs11-12 "Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:".

Listen children of GOD, it’s not worth it! The choice is simple. The farther away you go from Christ, the less hope, the less peace, the less joy, the less assurance you experience.

No where in the word of GOD is there hope held out to those who wilfully disobey the revealed will of GOD, no where! Heb 10vs25 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins"

Under Moses God forbid that sacrifices be offered by and for those who presumptuously, transgressed God’s law. No mercy is available to the willfully disobedient. The priest after the examination was to turn him away.  Num 15vs30 "But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 31 Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him".

And one can not imagine, the severity of trodding underfoot the blood of the covenant of GOD'S Son, who said in the land of eternal hopelessness " there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth".
